4. SSL encryption

This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and for the protection of the transmission of confidential content, such as inquiries. You can recognize an encrypted connection in your browser's address line when it changes from "http://" to "https://" and the lock icon is displayed in your browser's address bar.

If SSL encryption is activated, the data you transfer to us cannot be read by third parties.

5. Login and Cookies

The website has a login option, through which the FONAP members can register.

You can request your account to be deleted at any time. An informal email making this request is sufficient.

The data provided by you in the registration form will be stored until you request deletion, or the purpose for the storage of your data is no longer given (e.g. after you log out, in regard to the session-cookie). Legal requirements, such as retention periods, remain unaffected.

Upon your login to the website, cookies are being used. These cookies are only placed temporarily during your login sessions because they are essential, as user verification cannot take place without them. The cookies don’t require consent, because they are necessary for the login to function. The cookies are encrypted via Token and are deleted upon logout.

Cookies which are necessary to allow electronic communications or to provide certain functions you wish to use are stored pursuant to Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies to ensure an optimized service provided free of technical errors.

6. Server log files

The website provider automatically collects and stores information that your browser automatically transmits to us in "server log files". These are:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

These data will not be combined with data from other sources.

These data are required for a proper display of the website and to ensure its resilience and safety (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. c and Art. 32 DSGVO).

7. Workshop registration

If you use our registration form to sign up for an event that you received an invitation for, we will store your data provided in the registration form, including your contact details, in order to process your registration and carry out the workshop. These data will not be disseminated without your consent.

The dissemination of the data provided in the registration form takes place exclusively based on your given consent (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You may revoke your consent at any time with future effect. An informal email making this request is sufficient. The data processed before we receive your request may still be legally processed. In case you revoke your consent, we cannot provide you with further information on the specific workshop.

The data provided by you in the registration form will be stored until you request deletion, revoke your consent to the storage of your data, or the purpose for the storage of your data is no longer given (e.g. after completion of the event). Legal requirements, such as retention periods, remain unaffected.

8. Contact form

Should you send us questions via the contact form, we will collect your contact details, to answer your question and any follow-up questions (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO). We do not share this information without your permission.

The data will be stored for as long as it is required for the processing of your request and under consideration of relevant retention and limitation periods.

9. Newsletter

If you would like to receive our newsletter, we require a valid email address as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the specified email address and that you agree to receive this newsletter. In line with the double opt-in procedure, a confirmation email will be sent to the address that you provided in order to receive the newsletter.

No additional data is collected or is only collected on a voluntary basis. We only use this data to send the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.

We will, therefore, process any data you enter onto the contact form only with your consent per Art. 6 (1) (a) DSGVO. You can revoke consent to the storage of your data and email address as well as their use for sending the newsletter at any time, e.g. through the "unsubscribe" link in the newsletter. The data processed before we receive your request may still be legally processed.

The data provided when registering for the newsletter will be used to distribute the newsletter until you cancel your subscription when said data will be deleted. Data we have stored for other purposes (e.g. email addresses for the members area) remain unaffected.

10. YouTube

Our website incorporates videos from the GIZ YouTube channel. These videos are stored on the video platform YouTube, run by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin, Ireland), and can be played directly on our website.

These are applied under YouTube’s extended data protection guidelines and using a 2-Click-Solution. If you visit one of our pages featuring a YouTube plugin, the videos are additionally deactivated (not available) as you load the page so that the data is not automatically transferred to the YouTube servers, which may be situated outside the European Economic Area. The videos can be played after the user consents to the respective processing of the data through clicking on the video (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO). A data connection to the YouTube servers is only created after you actively click.

When you play the videos, certain data will be transferred to Google. This happens independently from whether you have a YouTube or Google account that you are logged into, or whether you do not have a user account at all. When you are logged in to Google, your information can be assigned directly to your account. We do not have influence on the data processing of Google. Further information on the processing of your data through Google can be found here https://policies.google.com/privacy.
